Ajla Vuković (20), a young woman originally from Kuprešani near Jajce, tragically lost her life in a traffic accident that occurred in the state of Ohio, USA, reports Jajce Online. The accident was part of a chain collision involving a total of 13 vehicles, resulting in at least four fatalities across three separate incidents. According to American media reports, Ajla was sleeping in the back seat of a vehicle when a trailer from a truck struck the car she was in. The crash was part of a larger incident affecting multiple vehicles, and fire departments from ten stations responded to the scene.
Over 100 firefighters were involved in the rescue operation, and several people were transported to hospitals. Their current condition is unknown, but it is reported that some were exposed to hazardous materials. Ajla had been living in the American city of Utica but was traveling to Iowa to attend a Bosnian-Herzegovinian festival. Her family has sorrowfully announced the news, while friends and community members have launched a fundraising campaign on GoFund platformi to assist with transporting her body back to Jajce and organizing her funeral. F riends and family describe Ajla as a beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose bright spirit left an indelible mark on the lives of those who knew her. She was an active community member and frequently volunteered, especially in working with younger generations.
Her death represents a tremendous loss for the entire Bosnian-Herzegovinian community, and many friends and family members have said their goodbyes to Ajla: “All the joys and moments of happiness you experienced in this world will be overshadowed by one moment, one painful truth that no reasonable being can deny, and that truth is DEATH. ‘By Time, indeed man is at a loss, except for those who believe and do righteous deeds, and advise each other to truth, and advise each other to patience.’ May mercy be upon your young and beautiful soul, and patience for your parents,” wrote Sanela.
“You had plans, dreams, and youthful desires, both fulfilled and unfinished. You had a smile like the most beautiful rose, love, warmth, brightness, gentleness, and tenderness. All of this was granted to you by the Almighty, but according to His decree, you had little time on this world. May He grant you the most beautiful place in Paradise,” wrote Šaban Šljivar. “Beautiful kum, my dear smile. I can’t believe you’re no longer among us. May Allah have mercy on you, forgive all your sins, and grant you a beautiful Paradise. To your family and everyone who knew and loved you, patience.
We are all Allah’s and to Him we shall return,” wrote her godmother Izeta Spahić. “I loved you. The folklore group loved you. Everyone loved you. You were such an incredible person, always smiling and cheerful. There was never a day when I saw you sad or angry. I would give up everything in this world for one more moment with you, one more practice, concert, gathering, or folklore trip. But insha’Allah, the day will come when we will dance together again. May Allah grant you the most beautiful Paradise, our beloved Ajla. Ya Rabb, I pray You have mercy on our Ajla and grant her the highest ranks of Paradise.
